The KOMO Newsradio Reporter generally works for all newscasts, as assigned - to:

·         Initiate, research and develop news stories

·         Provide live and recorded news reports

·         Produce compelling news for all platforms - radio, web and tv

·         Develop news sources within our community

·         Work under the direction of Editors and the Managing Editor

·         Fully utilize the  resources of  KOMO Newsradio, KOMO 4 News and komonews.com

·         Fully utilize other broadcast, broadband, community and print resources

·         Other duties as assigned

·         Three years experience in broadcast/broadband news

·         Excellent on air presentation

·         Ability to adapt quickly, on air and in reporting, to breaking news

·         The ability to work under pressure and with constant deadlines

·         Excellent investigative skills

·         Excellent writing and story production skills

·         The ability to reach out to the community and to develop and cultivate strong news sources

·         The ability to collaborate with colleagues

·         Command of computer skills – including ‘Newsboss’, ENPS, WORD platforms

·         A college degree is preferred

·         Physically, you are able to drive, you have excellent vision and hearing and speech (with or without corrective equipment). 

This is a full-time position. You must be available to work nights and weekends; and while you will have a regular schedule, there will be circumstances where schedule flexibility is required.
